Is it safe to go back into my home after a fire?
Not until the fire department says it is. During our inspection, we check for hazards like debris, air quality, and electrical issues. Burnt cords and appliances are set aside for disposal, and power may stay off until a licensed electrician evaluates the property.
Can I clean up the soot and smoke damage myself?
We don’t recommend it. Cleaning smoke damage correctly involves pretesting surfaces, choosing the right cleaning agent for each item, mixing deodorizing agents with cleaning solutions, and using correct dilution rates.
How long does fire damage restoration take?
It depends on the size of the fire and the services involved, so it’s hard to predict at the start. Your Clean Joe project manager will give you estimated dates for each phase of the work.
Can my belongings be saved after a fire?
We assess furniture, electronics, and other contents and clean, repair, or restore them whenever possible. If items need to come out of the home, contents pack-out is part of our fire restoration service.
Will my insurance cover fire and smoke damage?
Most standard homeowners policies cover fire damage, including smoke and soot cleanup. Check your policy for limits and exclusions. We provide insurance claim assistance, handling documentation and communication with your adjuster.
